Beware of phony endings. There does not need to be explanations for everything. Also beware of letting the persons tell others things that they both know of in the dialog. It’s better to leave the explanation. Let the reader wonder of fill in the rest by herself.
I always wanted to know where the outer borders are, not to make a story go over the top, over-sentimental. I learned a lot about that, from this short film.
Compare it to the film about how the stars are made, by the old lady in the sky, who doesn’t like knitting.
Two major differences.
1) Humour. Characters who behave more human and natural than we expect, in an unnatural environment.
2) Nothing is over-explained. The viewer draws her own conclusions and still gets the story.
